China Fan · Lettering Doodle

A fan drawn in marker: the word “China” as the main motif, small doodles and seal-like red dots — a keepsake for a friend.

NOTES

Studio notes

I drew this for a friend who came to China on exchange: the lettering leads and the doodles answer it.

Marker bleeds on a paper fan, so first I tested my speed twice on a scrap fan.

The signature and the date sit on one side of the ribs.

The writing looks like a picture, the picture like writing.
